Turf Care Program

Here at Greenway Turf Solutions, we use top quality granular and liquid fertilizer with a 7-application program that targets the seasonal needs of your lawn as they change throughout the year. Our lawn care program will offer the correct amount of nutrients needed for your lawn with high quality fertilizers throughout the year, weed control for any broad-leaf and grassy weeds that pop up, and pre-emergent to prevent germination of any future weeds. Throughout this process, our experienced technicians will monitor your lawn each application for any signs of any insect or fungal activity to ensure you're notified of any potential problems your lawn might be having as soon as possible.

Application 1:

Late winter and early spring treatments include lime to maintain proper soil pH, pre-emergent weed controls to prevent grassy weeds during the summer months and post-emergent weed controls to control existing weeds.

Application 2:

Like application one, our second cycle combines pre-emergent crabgrass control, slow-release granular fertilizer, and broadleaf weed control to feed your lawn while also taking care of any weeds competing with your lawn for resources.

Application 3:

This is the beginning of fungal season, so customers on or Fungal program will receive their first fungicide application during this application. For those customers who are not signed up for the fungal program, we highly recommend you do so. Mother nature plays a huge role on how healthy your lawn looks. Our techs will also apply bio-nutrients for soil and plant health and micro-nutrients for lawn color. Post emergent will be applied as needed.

Application 4:

Summertime is here, which means we will adjust a fertilizer that target both your grass, as well as the microbes living in your soil. Weed control for broadleaf and grassy weeds is applied as needed during this application. We will continue to apply fungicides only if customers are on the fungal program. The other option is to just receive a one-time fungal application, but we do recommend being a part of the program.

Application 5:

We provide the right amount of nutrients to help your turf recover from the stress of summer activity. We also focus on the grassy weeds that come up this time of year. Late summer and early fall are prime times for seeding, and new grass growth. We apply fertilizers that promote the growth of any new grass or feed any existing grass with important micro-nutrients that will encourage more growth. Fungal activity is still in play during this time, so we apply the final fungicide application for the year.

Application 6:

We recommend aeration and overseeding to relieve soil compaction. If you decide not to sign up for our aeration and overseeding process, you will still receive a balanced fertilizer and weed control. Greenway Turf Solutions also offer core aeration only if the customer would rather overseed themselves.

Application 7:

As this would be your last application of the year, our customers will receive a winterized fertilizer to help get through the cold season. Weed control is provided as needed Depending on turf maturity, you receive weed control to take care of any winter annuals.

Lawn Care 5

Aeration & Overseed

Seasoned golf course greens keepers and lawn care specialists know that the secret to a thick, green turf is core aeration. By aerating the lawn once each year, the grass roots grow healthier, and the plants thrive. Compacted soil is known to impede the movement of nutrients, water, and air to the grassroots. Since roots need plenty of oxygen to grow and to absorb water and nutrients, this can obviously become a problem. Also, compacted soil contributes to the accumulation of thatch because reduced oxygen levels hinder the activity of thatch-decomposing organisms including earthworms. Your lawn should be sown, fed, and re-seeded based on its type. For cool season favorites like Fescues, Kentucky bluegrass, and perennial rye, the time to sow seed, whether to plant a brand-new lawn or fill in the bare spots would take place in the fall season. Since the soil is warm during this time, the seeds germinate quickly and the growing grass thrives in the cooler air. The Overseeding process during spring can be done but it doesn’t yield the same results due to weed control.
